On October 4, 2018, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Restricting Smoking of Cigarettes and Electronic Cigarettes in Public Places” was adopted.

So, according to the law, smoking of cigarettes and electronic cigarettes in public places is prohibited:

in stationary trade facilities, as well as in catering establishments, with the exception of premises specially designated for smoking cigarettes and electronic cigarettes;

in cinemas, theaters, circuses, concert, exhibition and other halls and other enclosed spaces for public recreation;

in clubs, discos, computer rooms, rooms equipped for the provision of Internet services, or other places of entertainment (leisure);

in museums, information and libraries;

in local and long-distance trains, suburban train cars (including drums), river courts, city, suburban, intercity and international buses, taxis, minibuses and urban electric transport;

in underground passages, at transport stations and in places of temporary storage of vehicles;

in the buildings of airports, railway bus stations and water transport stations;

in the buildings of public authorities and administration, economic management, as well as enterprises, institutions and organizations;

in institutions and organizations of the healthcare system, educational institutions, sports and athletic institutions;

in premises with workplaces;

in the corridors of apartment buildings, as well as on children's and sports grounds located in front of the houses;

in squares, parks, streets and other public places.

In addition, advertising of cigarettes and electronic cigarettes is prohibited in Uzbekistan, as well as the activities of companies aimed at disseminating information about the places of purchase.

In accordance with the law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Restricting Smoking of Cigarettes and Electronic Cigarettes in Public Places”, smoking of cigarettes and electronic cigarettes on the territory of the institute is allowed only in specially designated places, marked with appropriate signs and equipped with ballot boxes. The territory of the institute has been declared a smoke-free zone.
